Blake Lively’s Hand-Painted Rose Nails Are Perfect for Summer Date Nights

Blake Lively has single-handedly made us excited for the release of the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie with her sexy method dressing. She wore a red Versace catsuit to support her husband, Ryan Reynolds, at the premiere alongside her date Gigi Hadid, who took on the Wolverine theme in a yellow Miu Miu set. Lively’s afterparty look was equally as headline-worthy: A red and blue Balmain mini dress with 3D roses across the neck and hemlines. She paired the outfit with red Louboutin So Kate pumps and her high ponytail from earlier in the evening. Hand-in-hand with her husband, her nails were on full display.

Her natural nails featured hand painted rose petals courtesy of Japanese nail artist, Mei Kawajiri who has curated experimental, custom manicures for Nicola Coughlan, Gigi Hadid, and Dua Lipa. This particular look was a fun following act to Lively’s premiere outfit, where her nails were hidden by her sultry off-the-shoulder gloves.

The duo picked baby blue and firetruck red colors that matched the actor’s dress perfectly. The base of the nail bed was blue and each finger was adorned with little rose designs. In her obligatory Instagram recap, Kawajiri wrote  “🌹🩵 roses are 🌹 painted with regular polish 🩵💕 this was the most fun getting ready for Blake 🌹🩷.” The fact that the nail artist was able to create this look with regular nail polish is a different level of craftsmanship.

Lucky for us, Lively has been out on the town a lot lately promoting her own new movie: It Ends With Us. She seems to love a good matchy-matchy moment. She wore a matching Chanel pants set with corresponding nails that paired hand-painted flowers with the iconic double “CC” logo. “Aren’t they incredible?” she said to reporters on the carpet. “I literally did them while at work. It was a little chaotic.” Chaos can be worth the reward.
